About the Event
Originally from Hudson, OH (class of 2004), Casey Brefka now resides in Nashville, TN where he works as a trumpeter, valve trombonist, composer, arranger and musical director of his own "Music City Big Band." Before moving to Nashville, Casey studied jazz composition at the Berklee College of Music and New England Conservatory.
We're also pleased to welcome guest vocalist HEIDI SWINFORD singing some of Casey's arrangements with the Danjo Jazz Orchestra for the first time! Heidi has performed with some of the area's most talented ensembles including the Jeremey Poparad Jazz Orchestra, Joseph Rubin & his Orchestra, and Axon Neuron, just to name a few.

This concert is part of our 2023 residency at Jilly's Music Room. "FIRST FRIDAYS" features Danjo performing two action-packed sets on the first Friday of most months, 8-11pm, with a short intermission.
